The short answer, by product

ProductHow to wash it
Hip CarrierRemove the plastic insert, empty the storage pockets, wash cold, lay flat to dry.
Snug hands free attachmentMachine wash cold on a delicate cycle, lay flat to dry.
Pearl WrapMachine wash cold on a gentle cycle, lay flat to dry.
Vegan leather versionsWipe down or spot clean only. Do not put them through a full wash.

Check the care label on your exact product first, because materials differ by version. The table above follows the guidance I found for these products, and your label wins if it says something different.

Before you wash the Hip Carrier

  1. Take the plastic insert out of the seat. Washing with it still in is the easiest way to bend it out of shape.
  2. Empty every pocket. A phone, a key, or a snack wrapper left inside will not survive a wash, and it can snag the fabric.
  3. Close the Velcro and the buckles so they do not catch on other items in the wash.
  4. Wash cold, then lay it flat to dry. Do not rush it with high heat.

Before you wash the Snug or the Pearl

The Snug folds into the pocket under the hip seat when you are not using it, so check that pocket too before you wash the set. Wash the Snug cold on a delicate cycle and lay it flat to dry.

For the Pearl, wash cold on a gentle cycle and lay it flat to dry. It is a wrap, so let it dry fully flat before you fold it away, or it will hold wrinkles and damp spots.

For a small mark, do not wash the whole carrier

Baby carriers get spit up, milk, and snack crumbs on them daily. For a small mark, spot clean that spot first and let it dry. Save a full wash for when the carrier truly needs it. Less washing also means less wear on the Velcro, the buckles, and the fabric.
