Who the Pearl is for

The Pearl is for the newborn stage, when your baby is small, snug against you, and not ready for a hip seat. It is a soft wrap carrier, not a hip seat, and it is made to feel close and womb like, with your baby facing inward. If your baby is already sitting up, pulling up, and wanting to look out at the world, the Pearl is probably past its stage, and the hip seat or the 2 in 1 system is the next step.

What makes the Pearl different from a wrap you tie yourself

A traditional wrap can feel like a puzzle the first few times, with long fabric and a knot to learn. The Pearl uses shrug style shoulder straps, a padded waistband, and a panel, so you can put it on solo without complex wrapping. The fabric has four way stretch, so it adapts to a wide range of body types, and the shoulder straps are made to spread weight and reduce neck strain. It also has built in pockets and a hidden bottle holder, and it pairs with the Pack or the Mini Pack for diaper bag level storage without bulk.

The Pack is larger, about 11.5 inches long, 9 inches high, and 4.5 inches deep, and it adjusts to up to 60 inches. The Mini Pack is smaller, about 7.8 inches long, 5.9 inches wide, and 2.4 inches deep, and it adjusts to up to 55 inches. Pick the Pack if you want a full day bag, and the Mini Pack if you want a light crossbody for a short trip.

Honest limits

Newborn timeline, in plain order

  1. 0 to 6 months, breastfeeding support: the hip carrier can be used as support while you sit and feed, and the Pearl can be used as a hands free newborn carrier.
  2. 8 to 20 lbs, facing inward: the Pearl stage.
  3. 12 lbs and up, facing inward: the 2 in 1 system starts, with the hip seat plus the hands free attachment.
  4. 16 lbs and up, facing outward: the 2 in 1 system allows facing out.
  5. Once your baby can hold their head up: seated hip carrier use starts, up to 3 years old or 45 lbs.
