ProductBreastfeeding use

How I used the hip seat for feeding support

I used the hip seat for breastfeeding support in the early months, and that is different from feeding while walking around with a baby in the seat. Sit down, get comfortable, keep a hand or arm on your baby, and let the seat take some of the weight at your waist while you feed. That is the use I found helpful, and it is also the use the guidance describes.

Do not use the hip seat to feed an infant while walking. The feeding position is seated support, not a hands free feeding setup. If you need both hands free, that is a different job, and the hip seat alone is not hands free in any case.

For a newborn, start with the Pearl

For a newborn, the Pearl Wrap is the Tushbaby option I would point to first. It is 8 to 20 lbs, facing inward only, and nursing friendly. Once your baby can hold their head up, seated carrying in the hip seat begins, up to 3 years old or 45 lbs. Do not put a newborn upright in the hip seat to feed, or to carry, before they can hold their head up.
